Privacy Policy

MoodaNote prioritizes user privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines what personal information we collect, use, store, and protect, complying with the South Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the GDPR, and other relevant laws.

1. Information We Collect

1) Required Information

We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication as default. You don't need to provide personal info to sign up. The following are automatically generated:

• Anonymous UID: A random identifier to manage your data
• Journal data (Mood labels, activities, notes)
• AI-generated analysis results
• Nickname and profile information

2) Optional Information (SNS Login)

• SNS Account Identifiers (Google, Apple)
• Email address: For authentication and recovery
• Profile name/info provided by platforms

3) Automatically Collected Data

• Usage logs and crash reports (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics)
• Device info (Model, OS version)
• Advertising identifiers (ADID / IDFA) for ad delivery (excluding ad-removal purchasers and existing premium purchasers)

4) Feature-specific Data

• Photos: Stored with your entries (only you can see them; never sent for AI analysis)
• Weather: Weather context is shown on entries based on location coordinates saved in previous versions. No new location is collected for weather.
• Place (optional): When you attach a place to an entry, we store its name. If you pick a place from the iOS “Today” suggestions, we also store its coordinates (latitude and longitude). Only you can see it. The place name may be sent to Google Gemini when writing Muda's reply; coordinates are never sent. It is deleted when you remove it from the entry or delete your account.

2. AI Analysis and Personalization

MoodaNote uses Google's Gemini AI as a third-party AI service to provide emotional analysis and personalized insights. The following data may be sent to Google Gemini AI for processing:

• Diary text and the face (mood), tags and place name you choose — including entries saved with a face only
• Parts of your recent entries used when writing Muda's reply — earlier entries from the same day, and short excerpts from entries in the last two weeks that continue the same topic

Important: Your data is processed by Google Gemini AI solely for generating responses within the App. Your data is not used to train or improve Google's AI models. Diary entries are sent to the Google Gemini API at the time of saving to generate the AI response. Entries are not used to train AI models, and no separate model training (fine-tuning) is performed. Photos are not sent to Google Gemini AI.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

Data is deleted immediately upon account withdrawal or app deletion. AI profiles are permanently purged upon deletion.

4. Third-Party Services

To operate the service, the App uses the following third-party services provided by Google LLC:

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Storage): UID, diary data, images, usage logs — for data storage and authentication
• Google Gemini AI: Diary text, chosen moods, tags and place names, parts of recent entries — for Muda's replies and mood analysis. Data is not used to train AI models.
• Google AdMob: Advertising identifiers — for ad delivery (users who have not purchased the ad-removal product)
• Google Analytics / Crashlytics: Usage logs, error data — for service improvement and stability

Personal information may be transferred overseas (primarily to the United States) solely for service operation. Google maintains SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications.
